Roaches galore and paper thin walls
Pros
Close to the train.
Cons
The owners were only minimally responsive in doing basic repairs and sending exterminators. They used the cheapest materials they could find, and often asked the super to do jobs that should have been given up a qualified plumber or other technician. (The super was a great guy, he was always trying his best.) The lock on the front door lock was broken for over a month, and packages were stolen as a result. Despite weekly or sometimes daily calls to ask for an exterminator to take care of the ongoing roach infestation, and promises that one would be sent for, in a year of living there the exterminator only came once. I was finally told by the owner that I should just wait until summer when there are fewer roaches living indoors. The walls are so thin I could hear conversations (or more often a teenager shouting obscenities at his grandma) in the next apartment. It was a miserable place to live and I have never been so happy to leave anywhere.
Advice to the owners
Stop cutting corners and invest in the wellbeing of your property and the people in it. If you can't do that bare minimum, you shouldn't be a landlord.
