Landlord Ghosted When I asked for Deposit Back

Pros:
Was reasonably priced and allowed month to month. Next door to the best bodega in the neighborhood.
Cons:
The landlord stopped answering my texts and calls when I asked for my security deposit back. I always paid on time, gave adequate notice I would be leaving, and left the room in good condition. He didn’t site any reasons he would be keeping it; just ghosted.
Advice to owner:
Don’t ghost tenants who did nothing wrong.
