Review Summary for 160 Parkside Avenue
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 160 Parkside Avenue highlight spacious, rent-stabilized units with great proximity to Prospect Park and convenient transit access. Residents appreciate the presence of doormen, package rooms, gyms, and friendly neighbors fostering community atmosphere. Cleanliness and building maintenance are satisfactory in many units, with reliable elevators and good water pressure also noted. However, persistent issues include pest infestations (particularly roaches), intermittent heating problems, and noise from both neighbors and nearby park activities. Some tenants report poor responsiveness and slow or unprofessional repairs by management. Improvements suggested include enhanced pest control, better security, timely maintenance, removal of scaffolding, and noise mitigation.

Peaceful and well maintained next to the park
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great building with doorman, package room, gym, etc. Well constructed and maintained. Great rent stabilized unit. Proximity to the train.
Cons:
Occasional problematic characters outside. I've heard the units with north facing windows have noise issues. Traffic and street parking is a challenge.

Huge apartment but so many problems
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Very good sized apartment for the price
-Proximity to Prospect Park
-Laundry in basement
Cons:
-Constant roach problem, especially in the summer. Building only had an exterminator come once a month, and tenants were not aware of when the exterminator would come.
-Did not feel secure even with the 24-hr doorman. The front door to the building was always unlocked, and staff never asked visitors to sign in or state their business. Some staff were definitely high on something during their shifts. Also very easy to get into the building through the unsecured garage.
-Faulty heat during the winter months
-Unresponsive super
-Noisy neighbors - lots of banging and loud music-playing
