Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 354 Ocean Avenue point to its prime location near transit, Prospect Park, and local amenities as a major benefit, with units often described as affordable and spacious. However, tenants frequently report issues with cleanliness, persistent water leaks, mold, and pest problems, alongside inconsistent garbage management. Noise levels and difficult neighbors are recurrent concerns impacting comfort and safety. While some praise the owner for return of deposits and occasional responsiveness, others find management slow or ineffective, resulting in unreliable maintenance and tenant dissatisfaction. Rent stabilization is in place for many units, offering some protection, but overall the building needs significant upkeep and better management for improved living conditions.

Good for what it is
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Convenient location! Close to the train station, prospect park, grocery store, and laundry directly across the street - Small building, so you get to know familiar faces - Regular pest inspections, and the exterminator is friendly and professional - Full security deposit returned with no hassle when moving out
Cons:
- Super can be unresponsive, so you often have to follow up repeatedly or contact building management to get things done - Water damage and mold issues
Advice to owner:
Please respond to maintenance requests more quickly and take long-term action to prevent water leaks and mold instead of relying on temporary fixes.
