Building in foreclosure, receiver hostile to tenants

Pros:
Apartment itself is great. Neighbors are great - real community feeling

No certificates of occupancy so no rent needs to be paid
Cons:
Wiring not up to code - had electrical fire and receiver wouldn't even reply to our messages about it.

Ignored us when kitchen sink leaking

Elevator constantly out of service, often with tenants trapped inside
Advice to owner:
Stop breaking the law and putting your tenants in danger

Pros:
Large balconies, apartment layout is nice
Cons:
Current owner is in foreclosure so building was unmanaged for a few months (no garbage collection, no one to contact for repairs, etc.). Worst thing was our front door wouldn’t lock and remained that way for months. Current management is court-assigned and temporary. They came in very aggressive and rude but now it seems like they’re doing the best they can but building still has tons of open violations and bc of that there’s no valid certificate of occupancy. Hi

Pros:
Great lighting in the apartment, had a backyard area for dogs, washer-dryer and dishwasher amenities are great!
Cons:
Elevator sometimes did not work and is main entrance to apartments, so very inconvenient, sometimes alarms blare in lobby for weeks before being checked/turned off, management shifted hands in a really chaotic and confusing way in the middle of my stay, backyard with lawn for pets was wrecked by a storm and never fixed. Small issues around the apartment like door handles falling off/water from upstairs neighbours flooding bathroom.
Advice to owner:
Get your shit together bro

Pros:
The apartments are great, awesome neighbors.
Cons:
The owner, Eli Karp of Hello Living is the kind of criminal who should be barred from buying and selling real estate in NY State. He has a long paper trail of self-dealing, lying, criminal negligence and fraud.
Advice to owner:
Give up now and go away.

Great apartment, bad building management

Pros:
Apartments are great. Well designed, great views, excellent light. Quiet and efficient a/c, in unit washer dryer.
Cons:
Elevator has repeated problems. Unresponsive building manager. Empty ground floor commercial space currently looks untidy.
Advice to owner:
Building management needs to be improved. Respond quickly to tenants requests and keep people updated if the issue cannot be immediately resolved.
