Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 455 Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn reveal significant concerns about building maintenance and management. Tenants commonly report persistent leaks, poor cleanliness, frequent vermin issues, and unreliable elevator service. Many express frustration with slow or absent landlord responsiveness, especially regarding essential repairs like heat and water. Despite these problems, some note the building's affordable rent, spacious units, and friendly neighbors. Garbage management consistently ranks low, contributing to an unsanitary environment. While a few residents recommend the building, the majority advise improved upkeep and more attentive management to address ongoing pest, maintenance, and safety issues for a better living experience.

Only cares about rent, doesn’t care about apartment conditions.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is fine, working elevators, has good heat, i rarely have pest problems in my apartment
Cons:
Consistent leaks in my apartment, landlord will not fix leaks unless you withhold rent. I’ve had leaks and holes in my ceiling for months before they decided to fix and while that was happening i was constantly harassed to pay rent and when i asked about the leak fixtures they would go radio silent
Advice to owner:
if you want rent on time keep the building safe and efficient for tenants

Neglectful and horrible landlord no water don’t rent here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location near prospect park, decent neighbors
Cons:
Landlord does not make repairs and harrasses tenants. Building is infested with vermin. Elevator breaks down frequently. Water has been turned off several weeks a year including one month without any hot water whatsoever. Heat went off for days during freezing spell. Stay away do not rent here!!
