Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenants unanimously advise against renting at 844 Flatbush Avenue due to severe issues. Reviews mention chronic pest infestations with roaches and rats, ongoing leaks, package theft, and unresponsive management. Tenants faced safety hazards like faulty wiring, lack of smoke detectors, and doors left open. Despite some positive mentions like friendly neighbors, the consensus is overwhelmingly negative, warning others to steer clear. Advise to the management stresses the importance of tenant welfare over profits. Rent stabilization isn't deemed enough to justify the building's numerous maintenance and safety shortcomings.

Avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
rent stabilized (but not worth it)
Cons:
Rate in the walls and basement for 2 years. Roaches everywhere you look. Ceiling leaks and needed replaced (took almost 2 years to be fixed) Mold in ceiling from leaks. Package theft. LOUD aggressive neighbor. Absolutely no response from landlords/super. NO smoke detector for almost a year. Unsafe water temps. Faulty wiring. No self closing doors (HUGE fire hazard) Front doors left open constantly. Absolutely filthy basement and lobby.
Advice to owner:
No advice. You’re getting SUED.

Beware & Look Elsewhere
Former Tenant
Pros:
My neighbors are cool. Space was small, but functional.
Cons:
Light fixtures are messed up and never fixed. There is an ongoing leak in my apartment and I can’t use the bathroom anymore. There was a rat in the lobby. Package theft is guaranteed. Management isn’t going to be helpful. People leave the doors open. I didn’t have a carbon monoxide or smoke detector when we moved in.
Advice to owner:
We are humans, not dollar signs you can neglect.
