Disgusting Neighborhood, Old Buildings
Pros
I moved in when there was news that this neighborhood was gentrifying. The new 24/7 laundromat, upgraded Dunkin Donuts, taco trucks, etc
Cons
This neighborhood went to hell due to an extreme surge of homeless people and drug addicts. On the corner of my block (main avenue), you will always see a crowd of 400 men. It is never safe to be around alone anymore. My friends and I hang out in groups just to get to the train station, which the Church Avenue station is now filled with crackheads, the homeless, and just insane people. The businesses around here are not doing legitimate businesses. There’s a hardware store that operates almost 24/7 just moving “bricks.” That employee has no supervision and acts so sleezy, some of us have called the cops before. The cop literally patrols our area, which was never the case jusr 4 years ago. Welcome to the “new” New York. Homeless, crack addicts and just people who don’t belong here is running the city to hell.
