Not too bad, not too great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet neighborhood, nice neighbors.
Cons:
The landlord is very unresponsive, rent is overpriced, super attendants not so responsive either. Building is very old and needs consistent maintenance to upkeep cleanliness.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to your tenants. Look after your tenants and stop overcharging for small apartments. There needs to be more cleaning and renovations done on the building to prevent rodents.

BEWARE BEDBUGS Worst living experience of my life
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent was cheap at the time, it was close to my school.
Cons:
I had bedbugs off and on the entire time I lived here. The building owner did little to nothing to fix it. They would go to other nearby apartments after mine was sprayed and those units were never treated. They kept coming back. The super Eddie was rude and dismissive of the many issues I had with the place. Every few weeks I saw a new mattress in the trash when I lived there. He once got flustered with me in my own apartment in a confrontational fashion and accidentally broke a glass of mine and left apologizing. The front door of the building never locked.
Advice to owner:
Treat your entire building for bed bugs because at this point I’m sure you haven’t still and they are still there. When a tenant has bed bugs it’s protocol to treat all units adjacent to that unit to prevent the bugs from retreating and spreading to other apartments and then back to the treated apartment when the chemicals ware off.

Beware! I would stay far away. Landlord is a scammer
Former Tenant
Pros:
There aren’t any.
Cons:
Landlord is unresponsive and unfair. Kept the security deposit when there wasn’t any need to. I would look elsewhere. Save your money. Be aware!
Advice to owner:
Return security deposits as you’re supposed to when there aren’t any damages in the apartment.

The good, the bad, the ugly
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized unit(s) available, friendly neighbors and diverse demographic, newly renovated units*, spacious units available, beautiful quiet block but still close to shopping area, and public transportation.
Cons:
Building is right next to where garbage is dumped, so pests are rampant (roaches, centipedes, spiders, etc...). Old building also, so though certain units have newly renovated appliances, there are many structural problems with the building/apartment. Cracked walls that leak when it rains in the lobby and in many units, appliances that are new but improperly installed. Poor insulation along the bottoms of the walls and behind the radiator. Did I say cockroaches? Super named Eddie, is not very responsive at all. If there's an issue and you ask him to help, he either does a poor patchup job, or seldom knows what's going on. You'll ask him the status of a repair and he'll say "The repair guy was supposed to come and check that out. I'll find out where he is and call you back..." He never calls back.
Advice to owner:
The building needs a full structural renovation. Patching it up only exposes other problems and cracks in the design.
