Mushrooms grew from the ceiling, oven would fill with fire in the night
Former Tenant
Pros:
My neighbors were kind
Cons:
Roach infested building. Mushrooms grew from our ceiling. Bathroom ceiling paint filled with water then popped, landlord had the super come break a hole a foot wide in the ceiling and leave it open, eventually I had to duct tape a gallon ziplock over it. Shower didn’t drain AT ALL. They changed the locks on the front door of the building and didn’t give any of the tenants a new key so we had to ring everyone’s doorbell to try and get in for the majority of the duration of my lease, this wasn’t fixed when I moved out. The building is owned by a notorious slumlord in bk.
Advice to owner:
Have some shame

It Is an apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very friendly neighbors on a mostly quiet block.
Things are shaping up and its a very community feeling
Cons:
It is an old building with old building problems. The manager has always been responsive and the super is helpful.
Advice to owner:
Maybe clean the walls and then slap some paint and trim on there

Its not worth it man
Former Tenant
Pros:
A lot of nice people in the building. I have known generations of folks living here and they are all good people for the most part.
Cons:
In the summer, roaches everywhere.
Some folks treat the laundry room like its they own and leave laundry down there for days
Paper thin walls
Every unit has a leak
Recently a dude moved in that always got a ton of dogs so the building always smell like wet dog or dog poop
Plus he always beatin on the dogs so get used to hearing them scream
Advice to owner:
Why you treat this place like its trash man
