This apartment ruined my life
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only positive thing I can say is that it's located in a great spot in the neighborhood and the rooms are big for NYC.
Cons:
Where to begin? This apartment flooded numerous times with sewage water...yes sewage - not rain water. The property manager is absolutely useless with 0 help. We had to go out of our way and out of pocket to hire plumbers because we were in several emergency situations. We had an insane amount of loss and damages to our belongings. The management was barely willing to help us in any sense. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Please save your time, money, and mental health by avoiding this apartment. The courtyard you walk through seems nice at first but it's completely unkept and is absolutely infested with rats. Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid...please avoid. There are so many better options.
Advice to owner:
FIX THIS APARTMENT.

Worst apartment building management i’ve had
Former Tenant
Pros:
No pros for this building
Cons:
This street is extremely loud, there are flies in the hallways throughout the summer and in the winter it always smells like dead rat and we can’t ever figure out where the smell comes from. We got a set of table with 4 chairs for the backyard that got stolen, told the manager and they were non responsive about the issue, i asked to check footage of the camera and they said “none of the cameras we have are real”. A year later 3 pair of shoes in front of our apartment got stolen and again management was non responsive. Overall worst buolding management, the building is always dirty and sanitation keep leaving tickets in the mailbox and it seems management doesn’t care. The front door glass is cracked. They also have raised the rent $300 every year we have lived in it, for no reason, the building is disgusting. Neighbors also leaving obstructive things in front if stairs that may be hazardous, there is also water dripping from the ceilings inside when it rains

Infested with rats
Former Tenant
Pros:
Duplex units with 2 floors
Cons:
I will begin by saying, on God, a rat crawled in my bed the very first night I slept here!!! Neighbors in this building are unreasonably loud and allow their children to run rampant. Banging from 6am to 12 at night running laps back and forth across your ceiling. Infested with rats. Super is well aware of the infestation after many, many emails and exterminator visits but refuses to pay to resolve the problem once and for all. Literally a hole where the radiator is in back bedroom where rats get in outside. All they did was cover the radiator. Unit smells like a hamster cage but don’t be fooled- that’s the smell of rats!! Service workers sent here by super have been hostile and unprofessional. Excessive amounts of trash outside the building always. My unit is a duplex and basement has flooded several times- management knows has done bare minimum to resolve. No one is monitoring the building so issues often have to become extreme before ever addressed. Neighbors on the 2nd floor have illegal cameras set up in the hall so your are constantly being recorded without consent. Homeless man living in an outside staircase that leads to a door to my apartment who smokes and fills apartment with cigarette smell. When brought up to the land lord all I got was “well is he bothering you?” These people have no business managing property. Weeks before moving out I woke up to massive water stains on my ceiling and a slow water leak. I immediacy went upstairs to the neighbors unit where water was coming from (loud neighbors with cameras) they told me there was no leak and slammed the door in my face. After that they pretended to not be home for plumber and refused to let plumber in to fix for over a week. Management never bothered to resolve the problem so I moved out. Do not rent this unit I have anxiety for whomever lives there next.
Advice to owner:
This property is your actual job so maybe deal with it when you should. The unprofessionalism exhibited is embarrassing but I am sure you do not care.
