According to the RentCafe website, this isn’t the first time tenants have reported ongoing maintenance issues at this building. Managed by Madison Realty Management, the building appears to suffer from chronic neglect in basic upkeep. During a severe heatwave with temperatures reaching 38°C (100°F), the central AC system failed. Despite tenants requesting inspection weeks in advance, they were told "it's normal" and that the HVAC had already been checked. It then took nearly two weeks just to receive a response and proper repairs—only for the unit to break again shortly after. Other issues such as loud ticking noises from the floor when the heater is on, which maintenance also dismissed as “normal.” Multiple stairway lights remain out for periods, and maintenance is frequently unavailable. Either due to being on vacation or reportedly too busy. Basic repairs often take weeks or even months. These range from broken window screens replaced with ill-fitting ones that let in insects, to stuck windows, faulty outlets, hastily fixed light switches, door knobs that slam into walls, insects entering through gaps under doors etc. Even when repairs are eventually completed, they’re often done poorly by seemingly unqualified personnel. Along with one time, they came to maintenance in the room, my phone was in the room. Once they left, the screen was cracked. They did not apologize, they did not mention anything, just left. Maintenance person prefers to spend time off more than being available to do maintenances. This level of unprofessionalism is far below the standard of service tenants should expect or accept.
Extremely poor soundproofing. Mornings will usually start with either construction noises, a person upstairs stomping/running, someone else's baby crying from upstairs or downstairs through the closet will become an alarm clock, a guy on the 2nd floor likes to slam his door whenever he goes on the run. It will start early as 7AM to late evening. You will hear a neighbor stomping from the stairs all the way to the 3rd floor from anywhere in your apartment. Stomping goes on throughout the day, randomly starting early as 5AM to late as 1AM. Playing music to drown out stomping will result in not only louder but more frequent stomping. Construction also goes on during the late week days to Saturdays.
Advice to owner:
Replace Maintenance. Hire someone in Brooklyn who is more available & professional.

Great to Come Home to
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very spacious. Tons of natural light. Everyone is friendly. Not a lot of neighbors. Landlord is great and responds quickly. Super close to multiple transportation lines. Great for families and folks looking for a quiet area.
Cons:
The basement where the trash collection lives is always dirty. Once came down and it was flooded.
Advice to owner:
Keep up great work
