Landlord is just a bad person
Pros
Being near the C, L, and Brpdway junction is great. Neighbors are great. Lots of somewhat older folks, often West Indian, who own their homes and care about the neighborhood.
Cons
Owned by some bad people who own many buildings and seem to be engaging in legal tricks to push long time tenants out. Like letting my building fall into foreclosure and trying to deny the validity of the lease I secured while in receivership. I’m guessing the new owner is connected to the old owner but they’re using the technicality of new ownership and the fact that pre-receivership we had been paying month to month. We’ve lived here nearly ten years. Now they want to raise the rent $700 which is impossible. We have a baby in daycare. They don’t fix things or they send people who aren’t really qualified sometimes to do dangerous things.
