Not bad, could be so much better for the money
Pros
Roof access is amazing and safe, just a staircase up with high barriers. The super is solid and will fix most issues up in a day or two. Management is OK to deal with. The inside parts of your home won’t get serviced at all (AC, boiler, kitchen, etc) unless you ask; I thought this was a positive but it wouldn’t be for everybody. The bathrooms are among the nicest you’ll see in Bushwick. Saw exactly one mouse in two years.
Cons
Most of the building is going through an extreme rent increase right now, so consider this a warning. You’ll pay as if it’s a luxury building, but it’s not. The whole complex has a roach problem, made worse by sinks that weren’t sealed well at the wall and baseboards + floorboards with huge gaps in them from a sloppy installation. Management does not treat or spray the building for this in any way. It never got so bad that we needed an exterminator, but there were times when we thought about it. Get baits, re-up them once a month, and be prepared to seal gaps all over the apartment to slow them down. Also, DON’T get a ground-floor duplex in any part of this building. They have had serious flooding problems and people in those apts had their stuff ruined. If the building itself hadn’t been fairly new construction, it could have been a much worse experience.
Fine on the outside
Pros
Rooftop, location, layout, central air.
Cons
Was brand new when we moved in, but it was a facade really. Oven handles would break off, bathroom ceiling leakage. Shoddy workmanship-- another cheap building in bushwick that looks good just on the outside. Another con was the lavender grey color paint.
