Great location, terrible neighbors
Pros
Many subway lines and supermarkets nearby to choose from (Trader Joe's, Aldi, Lidl, The Fresh Grocer). Package delivery system in place to prevent theft. Building staff and majority of neighbors* seem friendly. Large windows let in a lot of natural light.
Cons
*Unresolved noise issues and weed smells for years coming from ONE specific neighbor recently known as "the devil". The offender is NOT low income, which goes to show anyone can be inconsiderate regardless of income level. Noise shaking apartment walls, and yelling/arguing makes it feel unsafe living here. Other tenants leaving trash bags on the floor in trash room. Not enough space for cardboard boxes in the recycling bins. Hallway carpets smell unpleasant. Dog urine on exterior walls.
Advice to the owners
Have tenants recycle cardboard boxes at a separate designated spot (2nd floor or basement), not enough space in trash room. Install cameras to monitor repeat offenders leaving trash bags in the trash room, and fine them. Fine tenants letting their dogs pee outside the building walls. Temporary solution is hosing down the walls every day to prevent property damage. Be more strict on the building's non-smoking policy. Take action on tenants who cannot behave themselves, especially for noise issues. Hire more staff (especially maintenance and cleaning)!
Convenient location, good amenities, thin walls
Pros
Apartments have nice new appliances, great natural light, decent layouts. Building staff is fantastic across the board, and they do a great job keeping the building in great shape. Gym and rooftop are fantastic. Access to transit can’t be beat
Cons
Thin walls, can hear neighbors at times. Lots of construction happening in downtown Brooklyn as well.
