Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant feedback for 8 Palmetto Street in Brooklyn reflects consistent concerns about management and safety. While units are noted for being spacious and modern with convenient amenities like on-site laundry and proximity to public transport and stores, responsiveness from building management is widely criticized as poor. Many residents report issues with cleanliness, garbage disposal, and unchecked disruptive neighbors, contributing to a generally uneasy living environment. Common challenges include unreliable heating, security breaches, and limited accessibility of shared facilities due to vandalism. Though apartments offer good water pressure and some pest control, the overall consensus advises caution, especially considering the price and neighborhood safety.

Decent but you can find better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious, modern units
Cons:
Management is extremely unorganized and non-responsive. Other tenants are crazy disrespectful. Lots of issues go unresolved. Neighborhood is sketchy, people followed me home more than once, people broke into the building and even units on multiple occasions making it not always feel safe especially for the money you pay to live in a luxury building

Its alright for the price - but not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
The price is decent for what you are getting. There is laundry in the building and its near the train station, plus there is a grocery store on the ground floor.
Cons:
The neighbors let their pets pee on the carpet, they do not clean the trash room and it smells. There is a small gym which you can not always use bc teenagers like to play around there. I sometimes find McDonalds food left over in the gym, which is strange since there is a lounge next door. The roof is now close after 8pm bc people broke some furniture. Management is not very responsive.
