Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 130 Hope Street, Brooklyn, reveal a modern building with attractive amenities like a nice rooftop, package room, and clean common areas. However, multiple tenants report issues including high rent hikes, costly fees, and occasional poor maintenance. Complaints highlight frequent amenity malfunctions, unreliable building access apps, and weak security allowing random visitors. Heating problems, noise disturbances especially near Keap Street, and some pest concerns were noted. Responsiveness from management and owners varies, with several renters dissatisfied. While some appreciate the location and amenities, many feel the rent does not match the overall living experience, urging improved upkeep and better tenant communication.

Enjoyed my time here but priced me out
Former Tenant
Pros:
brand new, beautiful amenities, cleaned daily, large package room, great super.
Cons:
charges amenity fee after first year. HIGH rent increases year over year. They tried to charge me a 15% increase after my first year and I got them down to 5%. The second year they tried for another 12% and I didn't resign. It's a nice building but not worth that much.
Advice to owner:
do not charge people to rent out the amenity spaces because its not happening. People are just throwing parties anyway unchecked. if it was free or just a security deposit you would have more visibility and control on whats going on in those spaces because you would know ahead of time (not just cameras).

Good building but slightly overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Clean and pretty lobby - Good rooftop - Package room is nice to have
Cons:
- Noisy on the Keap street side - Random people coming to the building to take photoshoots some times - AC system smelly at times and it takes a while for management to clean it up
