Nightmare on 27th Street
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was cheap to live there.
Cons:
Landlady: Lied about parking spots, non-responsive to slow per house maintenance, violated the terms of agreement for move out, moves in random people without telling other house members about their unemployed and criminal history (which has led to physical & verbal violence in the house), allows tenants who commit theft, damage, and violence to continue living there at the peril of the other house members. Vermin issue is a result of her moving in unkempt individuals.
Advice to owner:
Be transparent, honest, work with tenants to find a right fit for a roommate situation, be responsive to the issues/dynamics of the house which she created. When there’s a pandemic, try not to just focus on squeezing money out of your tenants.
