The Mozart Review
Pros
The net rent made the unit affordable. Some units are very large. The building was clean overall and well maintained. The location was close to 7 different subway lines, making commuting easy.
Cons
The noise level was high; the walls are thin and do not block out any of the neighbor's sounds. There is a "media company" that rents out part of the second floor and they have LOUD parties once a weekend, usually with a DJ and huge bass system; the parties last until 11 PM- Midnight. The heating units are mounted on the wall and are not effective in heating the living room/kitchen, given the shape of the unit. The garbage/recycle room is not always serviced on the weekend, which means we saw a build up there some weekends. Renters have to pay for the hot water, as well as electricity and Wifi/Cable. The laundry room only has 2 washer-dryers, and charges about $3.50 (cash) or $4 (phone app) per load which is higher than other apartments we have rented.
Advice to the owners
Address the issues submitted by tenants in a more effective manner; when we complained about parties at midnight, they told us to call 411 and report it.
