Review Summary for 32-23 35 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 32-23 35 Street, Queens consistently highlight decent apartment size and a convenient location near Broadway. However, tenants report pervasive issues with the landlord, describing him as unprofessional, unresponsive, and dishonest—particularly regarding security deposits and rent demands. Several renters mention a hostile and discriminatory attitude, including racist behavior. Heating problems persist during winter, pest control is inadequate with ongoing mice issues, and garbage management and cleanliness receive mixed feedback. Noise levels seem moderate, and neighbor relations are generally neutral to positive. Overall, prospective renters should be cautious due to management concerns overshadowing the building's otherwise good attributes.

Landlord pretends to be super
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location
Nice size apartment
Cons:
The landlord is pretending to be the super (confirmed on HPD site). He says the owner is his friend, but he's the owner. He asks for more rent money and if you don't give it he's going to be homeless because he'll get fired, when he's the boss. He's racists and sexist, claiming that they don't rent to black people and does things for white tenants.
Advice to owner:
Hire someone to manage your property professionally and stop pretending to be the super. Let a professional handle your property because you aren't.

Horrible landlord and never got my security deposit back
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to Broadway but still quiet
Cons:
The landlord is incredibly unprofessional. I never received my security deposit back. Didn’t have heat for weeks at a time during winter. Landlord sends racist and inappropriate emails when he does communicate.
