Rent-Stabilized, decent apartments with bad management
Pros
Location is OK, size is OK, price is OK. Be sure to check the legal rent as these units are rent-stabilized.
Cons
The management of these apartments is very bad. I could tell you more, but if you move in, you’ll find out. Just make sure you double-check all of your paperwork. This apartment building is rent-stabilized, so make sure that you do your homework and be sure that you’re being charged the legal amount. Document every phone call and visit and try to text, not talk on the phone, whenever possible. Take very thorough video of the apartment and the state of things the day you move in. Open every door and window and document the state of disrepair as it was when you moved in.
Advice to the owners
Someone else should be managing this property.
