Review Summary for 41-10 53 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renter feedback for 41-10 53 Street, Queens, highlights serious maintenance and management issues despite its prime location and friendly neighbors. Tenants report persistent problems including lack of heat during winter, water damage, mold, pest infestations, and unclean hallways. Noise insulation and apartment finishes are poor, compromising privacy and comfort. Many express frustration with unresponsive, negligent landlords who fail to address urgent repairs or return deposits. While the neighborhood is described as pleasant with nice tenants, the building’s neglected upkeep and ineffective management detract significantly from its livability, making it generally unsuitable for prospective renters seeking a well-maintained home.

wasted potential in good neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
good location. great neighborhood full of lovely people
Cons:
poor finish throughout. dirty hallways. poorly fitting doors where you can see very easily inside people's apartments and subsequently leaks noise. lazy, unresponsive landlord. she tried telling us to ask the realtor to handle a maintenance issue. wtf?

Brown Water, Mold, No heat-SLUMLORDS
Former Tenant
Pros:
There was no pros
Cons:
There was a period of time that the drinking+shower water was coming out brown and it took them weeks to even address the issue.
During the winter we wouldn’t have heat (which is illegal in NYS) until another tenant complained.

Someone had died in the building and when we went to collect our old mail we saw they were cleaning it up themselves (the person was a hoarder.) The building still smelled months after that and we found out that they rented it to a couple without them knowing.

The "landlord" doesn’t respond.

There was constant water damage and they rented the downstairs apartment knowing that. The renters ended up leaving after a month.
People are constantly moving out because of how bad the landlords are. They also refused to give back the deposit.
Don't move here unless you want neighbors you don't know and broken everything.
There also is apparently a different owner for each floor/apt yet no one seems to know how to manage or maintain a building. Greedy are most negligent at best.
Advice to owner:
Do better
