Great place to call home

Pros:
Super in building, very responsive. Neighbors very nice. Quiet place to settle down.
Cons:
Occasional roach (often depended on neighbors), ants at one point, and heard of a mouse (after I had moved out, food was left in the sink where it was found). Exterminators do come often.

Good location, close to train
Cons:
Neighbors were loud and would smoke on porch, lounge down the street was loud with many fights happening outside.

Pros:
The super is very skillful and helpful. However, he is so busy (he lives in this building but handles several others for the owner) that sometimes he can't respond soon.
Cons:
The owner is the poster child for uncle scrooge's character in the famous Charles Dickens story. The gentleman is as condescending as they come. He thinks he is doing you a favor by renting to you.
Advice to owner:
Don't keep part of the deposit for alleged damages to an apartment with the original floor from 1929. Offer painting it every few years. Pay attention when there are mice and tenants are telling you often. Be a Landlord, don't be a slum landlord. Is not about the building, they may be old but are great. Is about you and your management. And is not about your staff. They do what they can with the orders they have received from you.

Great first apartment

Pros:
Super is very responsive. He and his wife are very diligent about keeping the building clean.

Laundry in building and courtyard which is a big plus. Walking distance from subway
Cons:
The location isn’t the best.
