Lazy landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location was close to the bridge and busses
Cons:
Old building, landlord does bare minimum to maintain it. Water pipes broke twice during the 9 years we lived there and we fixed it. Landlord blamed our older daughter and said her toys went down the drain, plumber said no toys, pipes were old and needed to be replaced. Never done. Electric problems, electrician told her there were major issues and she did the basic. We asked to renovate and update and we will pay the difference, no such luck. Bathroom wall peeled off, there was mold we had to threaten to withhold rent and file a complaint because of the mold and children in the house. Ceiling leaked in multiple spots, crappy patch job by family members who were not into construction, ceiling in basement apt fell down and destroyed the items from previous tenant and she found a cheap way to fix.
Advice to owner:
Don’t be cheap
