Brand-New Cheap Building with Vintage Slumlord Energy
Pros
Lobby is nice; gym is tiny with limited equipment but nice to have.
Cons
This building photographs like a high-end luxury rental, but living here has felt more like beta testing an extremely disappointing half-finished product. Core services and basic repairs have been mishandled from day one and many items still don't work. We are genuinely unhappy here. When we moved in, the entire building had no working internet, despite management repeatedly insisting ‘the building has internet’ while multiple Spectrum techs confirmed there was no active connection. It took three separate technician visits and hours of our time to get the building online, while both of us were trying to work full-time from home. Unfortunately, that was just a taste of what was to come. The in-unit washer and dryer, a key selling point, have not worked properly for over a month, with one machine installed incorrectly and the other needing repairs, and no clear timeline for resolution. We have effectively been paying for amenities that exist only in the listing photos. Windows in this ‘brand-new’ building are so poorly installed that cold winter drafts visibly move the blinds, and the Samsung AC units struggle to hold temperature. The result is a unit that can’t maintain a comfortable climate even with everything ostensibly ‘brand new. The consistent theme is that issues are minimized, timelines are vague, and tenants are asked to spend their own time solving building-wide problems. For the price point, the level of professionalism and follow-through from management has been surprisingly low.
