Flood caused signs of mold

Pros

I liked the unit itself (beautiful) but after living here over a year we found many issues with management, neighbors, and the area.

Cons

We found there to be mold signs in our hallways after our floor flooded and management’s only resolution was running fans and dehumidifiers for 2 months, and then placing the baseboards back over the mold. We had water coming up from under our floorboards and while we can’t see mold, we certainly expect it to be there. Strong smell of mildew, and zero communication (unless reactive responses to tenant emails) regarding the flood. Often we could hear our neighbors directly through the walls. There were over 4 occasions where I had to email a complaint to management after finding VOMIT in the elevators in the early morning hours. There is always dog poop and trash up and down the entire block, and is even messier now since next door there is ongoing construction which not only created noise but affected the water quality for some of the tenants living here.

Advice to the owners

Compensate your tenants when they are not receiving the living experience they pay for. The fact no rent abatement was offered when we have buckling floorboards and base boards and have to run a dehumidifier nonstop in our apartment is insane and not worth the astronomical prices of the unit. Be proactive and communicate with tenants regarding events in the building that may have impacted their living experience, rather than only emailing to collect rent.

Avoid this apartment. Worst management.

Pros

Newly built in 2024.

Cons

Management has been consistently unresponsive. Despite living here for nearly a year, USPS mail delivery still hasn’t been properly set up. After repeated complaints, the staff began picking up mail from USPS and delivering it to residents every two weeks. However, residents are not allowed to collect mail from USPS themselves, making it impossible to receive important or time-sensitive items promptly. Additionally, most of the outlets in my unit appear to be low-capacity. Using common appliances like a vacuum cleaner or hairdryer frequently trips the breaker, which is extremely inconvenient. Unfortunately, these are just a few of the ongoing issues. I highly recommend checking the Google reviews—many other residents have shared similar concerns and experiences.
