Rent stabilized building with a good sized apartments

Pros

There is an app which can help to create a ticket (plus rent paying), so the manager will see it and maybe expedite the case (broken toilet in my situation ) a little . Situation with trash is good, porter does a good job. Most of the apartments are renovated so washers/dryers in a unit. Pretty close to the subway and 2 parks (Morningside and Central).

Cons

Supervisor is slow. Cameras barely work. Only the first floor is getting cleaned once a week. For the hot water you have to fight and call 311. It’s not bad all the time but once in 2 months it becomes cold for several days.

Advice to the owners

Please, install the new cameras and check the boilers.

Affordable building, lots of families

Pros

Well priced Most units seem to have good amenities, though mine didn’t

Cons

Older building with typical pest and heating issues. In the summer the unit was crawling with bugs and roaches and we had a persistent mice issue through the fall and winter, with only minimal pest control from the building. In the winter the heat was pretty unreliable, swinging from too hot to sleep or freezing cold, sleeping in several sweaters, etc.
