Old building but good experience

Pros:
I had a rent stabilized apartment, super lives in the building and he and the owners are pretty accessible and fixed our issue with our water temperature quickly. Neighbors are chill! Dog friendly but I think it's on the DL. Haven't had a pest issue, I have seen a three or so roaches in the building in the past 1.5 years but I filled all the holes in my apartment and haven't had a problem. Building is technically not pet friendly but there are a lot of pets in the building including large dogs
Cons:
No intercom :(((( There are hallways bathrooms for some of the units and sometimes it smells. Walkup building, overall an old building with so many layers of paint.
Advice to owner:
Get intercoms please!

Weird layouts of apartment. Def took two units and split them

Location and virtual doorman kinda
Cons:
Everything else, building is falling apart, multiple gas leaks while I lived there, alerted management, they didn’t care until the building gas was shut off by the city. They replaced pipes and left them exposed, didn’t clean up Sheetrock, floors had holes, mice, bugs, you name it this building has it.
Advice to owner:
Fix everything
