Good building, absent landlord

Pros

Good sunny location. Great neighbors both in and around the building. Gut renovated in early 2021 so most things work well. Management company leaves the tenants alone (a good and bad thing, ha)

Cons

The building didn’t have a gas connect when they let everyone move in, so we got a hot plate instead and were told to wait. Then they jacked the price up on everyone a year later, by 10-15%. None of us got COVID deals. Some people’s appliances weren’t working and had to threaten the landlord. Building didn’t have numbers out front until we threatened to call 411, and they nailed some on right before the inspector came. They have one overworked super for their properties, who doesn’t always respond.

Advice to the owners

Be more receptive to tenants! Shouldn’t have to threaten to withhold rent to get help
