Slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are a reasonable size.
Cons:
This building has no hot water in the kitchen unless you leave the water running for 20+ minutes, and even then, sometimes it doesn't get hot. There is absolutely NO extermination service. There is minimal and insufficient heat. There is no egress from the building in case of fire. The door handles to the front doors routinely fall off and out of the doors. The intercom system is broken. The mailboxes fall out of the wall and onto the floor. The apartment doors do not shut on their own. There is black mold everywhere throughout the apartments. These are just a few of the many issues inherent in this property.
Advice to owner:
Follow the Law.

Landlord is not responsive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is quiet, good neighbors.
Cons:
Hasn’t fixed a slew of issues in the building. Flippant about pest control, heat is wildly insufficient, hasn’t repaired broken buzzer, can’t even be bothered to label the doorbells, hasn’t fixed broken mailbox lock, slow to respond to caved in ceiling. Generally rude and does not care about the living conditions of the tenants.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to someone else and find a new job. Or accept that your tenants concerns are serious ones and that you should care about their health, safety, and quality of life
