Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews for buildings managed by Scott Shurgin reveal a mixed bag of experiences. Residents commend the cleanliness, responsive management, and well-maintained facilities including effective pest control. However, issues such as high rent, thin walls leading to noise disturbances, and occasional maintenance lapses are concerning. Some tenants report serious problems with neighbors and package thefts, while others wish for enhancements like better water pressure and soundproofing. Overall, while many appreciate the management's attentiveness, there are recommendations for improvements to enhance tenant satisfaction in these properties.

very chill building!

Pros

live in super is super responsive, same with management, good views and great light on the south side

Cons

very odd neighbor

I've seen worse

Pros

there aren't a whole lot of pros I'd say. Most things were just okay and acceptable but nothing is outstanding. It has laundry in building which is nice. They do seem to be making some updates to the building like they re-did the basement cuz it was pretty dingy before but updated lighting and re-painted.

Cons

- super did his best but I don't think he was qualified and I don't think he really cared about actually fixing things, but they did replace him with a new super but no interactions with him so far - I find dead roaches in the basement and stairwell randomly so better than them being alive - The guy who lives in 1A has on and off had lots of sketchy guests come into our building and I think his guests steal our packages. He has had screaming fights in the building with these guests and they even smashed the glass on the building door. His guests are constantly being asked to be let in and ring everyone's doorbell at all hours. We've brought this up to management and they always say to file police reports and ask if we want to go to court which obviously is a big ask but they take no actions outside of that. - water pressure is good half the time and the water pressure in the shower decreases right at 10pm, not sure why this happens. Most of these things don't bother me as much as a man to be honest but the rent is way too high in my opinion and doesn't feel worth it although rent is very high in NY, this still doesn't feel worth it in my opinion
