Pros:
It was quite affordable
Cons:
The owner did things illegally. They were unresponsive to serious issues in the building. The apartments gradually filled up with young partyers who were loud all night all week.
Advice to owner:
Do things above board

Apartments have a dishwasher and plenty of storage. Laundry in basement.
Cons:
Walk up, laundry was out of order for the better part of a year.
