Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting properties managed by Cesar Hidalgo report a mixed experience with management responsiveness and building upkeep. While some buildings feature friendly supers and timely responses addressing major issues, others suffer from slow or poor communication, especially regarding maintenance and pest control. Recurring problems include pest infestations, heating malfunctions, and package theft, with some tenants feeling neglected or frustrated by prolonged delays. Cleanliness and garbage management vary across locations, and noise disturbances are notable in certain buildings. Despite these challenges, many residents appreciate the community, convenient locations, and occasional landlord flexibility, though improvements in management communication and building maintenance are frequently recommended.

The management is out to lunch

Pros

Cons

Besides the paper thin walls, ceilings, and floors, the real issue is with management. It took management months to fix radiator issues- noxious odor, sleep disruption from cracking and banging all through the night, and that's when they were "working". Often you were just left to freeze. It took the building making a group chat and coordinating to get any action- one tenant even abandoned his unit because his sleep disruption was so bad. The other primary issue was package theft. It was constant throughout my entire lease and they did nothing about it. We petitioned for the camera footage that is aimed directly at the drop off and they strung us along for over half a year until saying the camera had been broken and not captured anything. The doors were constantly broken. On top of that, any normal requests took ages to get handled if they were handled at all. The only exception is when all it was required was the super's time- the super was great.
