Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by David Beek report well-maintained, charming older buildings with mostly responsive and kind management. His staff are praised for friendliness and timely communication, especially regarding maintenance and lease accommodations. Renters often appreciate the quiet, safe environments and respectful neighbors. However, some note slower responses to certain repairs, occasional pest issues, and temperature inconsistencies in upper-floor apartments. Garbage management is generally effective though sometimes could improve. Security concerns like loose locks have been raised but addressed. Overall, residents find David Beek a fair, reasonable landlord who handles incidents considerately and maintains good tenant relations.

Very charming, quiet building

Pros

- location was great for me - charming old building - very nice landlord - super quiet building barely ever saw or heard my neighbors

Cons

- super can be slow to respond - top floor is consistently 80°. Never needed to turn on my heat in the winter and always had to have my AC running all summer. - mailroom is usually a mess - very expensive for the size of the apartment (I was in the top floor studio)i

Advice to the owners

Kitchen could use some updated appliances
