Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant experiences with Andreas Steiner's buildings reveal a pattern of poor owner responsiveness and maintenance delays despite some positive neighborhood attributes. Many residents report issues with cleanliness, broken facilities, pest control, and heating problems. While neighbors and quiet locations are often seen as pros, management is frequently criticized for slow, cheap, or ineffective repairs and poor communication. Rent stabilization is appreciated where applicable, but illegal rent increases are a concern. Some tenants value the space and location, yet overall, management struggles to maintain building upkeep and respectful tenant relations. Improvements in responsiveness, repairs, and communication are strongly advised.

Pros

great neighborhood and rent stabilized

Cons

landlord never responds and takes forever to make repairs, when he does it's done extremely cheaply and ineffectively; also illegally raises the rent for new tenants

Former tenant·Over 2 years ago

Great Neighborhood, awful management

Pros

Neighborhood, neighbors. Apt space, fellow tenants.

Cons

Hallways are dirty, windows aren't doubled paneled so outside noise travels in easily. Front entrance often breaks, buzzers don't work well.

Advice to the owners

Treat your tenants with respect. We are all adults in these partnerships.
