Run the other way! YEARS of safety and hygiene issues, poor management

Relatively inexpensive for nyc, reasonably close to subway, night life, food.
Cons
Management and super/porters are basically useless and require intense micromanagement. Afrim the building manager is sexist - many occasions of being condescending and ignoring complaints from women, but being nice and immediately fixing the same issue when men call. If the building had issues, I'd ask my male neighbors to call because they'd have a better chance of actually getting things done. Trash, recycling, discarded furniture, and appliances accumulate in the basement and doesn't get taken out for months. Multiple tenants had to call the building manager repeatedly to get it taken care of. Repairs in my unit went unresolved for almost two years. They "don't use email," but this is their way of ensuring there is no paper trail on tenants' complaints. There is magically email when it's convenient to them. Packages are frequently stolen from the lobby. I've had my own empty boxes left in front of my door as some sick joke, and I see opened discarded boxes in the lobby frequently. Management refuses to do anything about safety issues. Homeless people frequently access the building, and one was living in a storage area in the basement for weeks, outside what should be an alarmed fire door. Management was notified, and they refused to install a properly locking door. However, when homeless people were living on the roof (where they have revenue generating cell phone towers) an alarmed door was installed immediately.
Advice to the owners
Treat your tenants like humans instead of dollar signs. Be proactive in managing service requests. Personally check on the building regularly to ensure things are getting done. Don't rely on tenant complaints to get things cleaned up.

Beautiful French doors to the bedroom, brick wall in the living room. My space is very cute
Cons
The building is a disaster and management is sexist and unresponsive. Homeless people sleep outside your door, the buzzer door is always broken, I had no heat or hot water for a week in January when I moved in, etc etc
Advice to the owners
Get a new management person
