Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by 225 Central Park North LLC reveal a mixed management experience. Tenants praise clean common areas, good amenities, safe neighborhoods, and convenient locations near Central Park and transit. However, heating issues are frequently reported, especially inadequate heat during winters. Garbage management and pest control receive moderate reviews, with some complaints about roach sightings and trash area conditions. The management and superintendents are often described as unresponsive or difficult to reach, with several tenants feeling management lacks accountability and respect. Rent increases and occasional maintenance delays are also noted. Overall, expect a decent living environment but prepare for challenges with maintenance responsiveness and heating consistency.

Good enough to live

Pros

Well provided amenities, relatively clean for such an old building, good neighbors, quiet street, and an awesome location.

Cons

Roach sightings over the summer as they come up the vents, trash management was at times poor, and change of management led to crazy rent increases

Heatless Winters and Owners Who Don't Care

Pros

Lobby is nice and clean. Neighbors are quiet for the most part. Never had to deal with stolen packages.

Cons

There is very little heat in the winter—just check the thousands of HPD complaints for the building. The super, Cesar, will lie and tell you the heating system works "perfectly" while shifting the blame to every single tenant in the building for why their apartment doesn't feel warm. The property manager, Jason, is hard to get in touch with and is rude and dismissive when you do get a hold of him. Refuses to take accountability for anything and only cares about collecting your rent money. Avoid this building at all costs. Not worth it.

Advice to the owners

Take accountability and fix the issues in the building that you are well aware of. Care about your tenants.
