Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of Joel Gluck’s buildings consistently praise the friendly, professional doormen and the generally clean, well-maintained apartments with good natural light and spacious layouts. Management is often noted as responsive, particularly maintenance staff, although some reviews mention the leasing office can be rude or difficult to work with and sometimes slow to respond. Common issues include inconsistent heating, occasional noise from neighbors or nearby trains, and small appliances in some units. Several renters suggest improvements like better loyalty to long-term tenants, upgraded appliances, and stricter control over communal events to enhance tenant experience. Overall, residents find the properties desirable but seek better communication and modernization from management.

Solid place, no complaints

Pros

- Doormen rock - Rare noise issues in the halls - Thick walls

Cons

- Utilities can get pricey - Parties in communal area can get pretty loud - Immediate neighborhood isn't great

Advice to the owners

- Don't allow free-for-all events - Pay Elvis, Michael, and Jeroni 2X what they make today

It's a great building!

Pros

The doormen are great and the rooms are modern and at a good rent-stabilized price. The super is also really responsive to maintenance needs, and this was super important to me.

Cons

The rooms can get a bit noisy since it’s close to the train, but that didn’t bother me much as I’m a pretty heavy sleeper. The two bedroom apartments are generally flex rooms, and the flexed bedroom can get pretty cold in the winter compared to the regular bedroom and rest of the apartment space.
