Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting buildings managed by Robert Perl generally find the locations attractive and appreciate the well-maintained, clean common areas and regular pest control efforts in many properties. Management responsiveness varies widely; some praise timely repairs and attentiveness, while others report slow or unprofessional communication, especially regarding administrative and maintenance issues. Noise levels and pest problems, particularly rodents and occasional cockroach issues, are recurring concerns, as are security challenges with package theft and thin walls. Rent increases and occasional chaotic management also drew criticism. Overall, renters experience decent upkeep but should expect mixed management communication and some building challenges common in older NYC properties.

Old Building, Great Location

Pros

The location is great and the unit is cozy, and has a dishwasher. The maintenance team is super friendly.

Cons

No laundry in building, walkup, heat is radiator which can get super hot (and sometimes didn't work), management team is mediocre at responding

Could be better could be worse

Pros

I like the location and the apartment has nyc charm (open brick and loads of light). Also I really like the virtual doorman app

Cons

Cleanliness of the building itself is lacking. Someone does a rough sweep maybe once a month and that’s about it. Also getting repairs fixed via contacting owner can take forever

Advice to the owners

The building should be cleaned at least once every two weeks
