Excellent Neighbors and Super, Questionable New Owners
Pros
This is a very quiet building with kind neighbors that look out for each other. The management company hired by the new owners (new as of late 2024), is very responsive when you have an issue. The building itself has fantastic charm and unique layouts. A lot of people living here have stayed for a long time.
Cons
The new owners have been doing questionable construction in the basement and on the 2nd floor for over a year. 311 has been alerted and construction temporarily stops but then starts again. While it's slowing down, it has been shifty (noise, dust, and lack of posted permits). Also, the building does occasionally have roaches, but it's to be expected in such an old spot, and there is a monthly visit from an exterminator. Lastly, we do occasionally have packages stolen, but not often.
Advice to the owners
Be clearer about posting work permits and letting us all know the timeline of construction. If you want people to stay long-term, you need to respect the people live here.
nice building and area
Pros
The super is a nice guy. Not had any issues with management, they were responsive when issues needed. Brick is super nice.
Cons
Can get very loud outside because of traffic and honking. Building does monthly pest control which is great but it can be easy to miss the guy and then see insects.
Advice to the owners
Do a better job communicating times for pest control
