Avoid ABECO Management-owned buildings at all costs

Pros

Good location, my unit had been recently renovated.

Cons

The management company who owns this property owns dozens of properties in the city. They absolutely drag their feet getting any repair done, the building itself is literally falling apart, and they won’t fix anything unless you get the city involved. We’ve had 6 water leaks in our ceiling in the three years I’ve lived here, twice which involved the ceiling partially collapsing. When emailing the owner, his response was “these things sometimes happen.” Every contractor I’ve had sent to the building says management undercuts them and is slow to pay them for their work. This place is a leech that has no problem raising rent every year without keeping up their properties that are falling apart.

Advice to the owners

Repair your buildings! Fix the plumbing! Answer your phone and actually follow up on issues promptly!
