Old and outdated
Former Tenant
Pros:
The live-in super is sweet. The building is convenient to a number of trains and buses.
Cons:
It’s an old building that hasn’t been updated in years. Narrow hallways, sunken/uneven floors. The water pressure is atrocious, and as soon as the weather gets even a little nicer heat and hot water become unheard of. What’s not unheard of are your neighbors, even those in the adjoining separate building; you can probably carry on a conversation through the walls. Even though an exterminator comes in once a month, you’ll be sharing your space with roaches, spiders, and ants.
Advice to owner:
Invest a bit into modernizing the building. Or tear it down and start fresh. It’s not worth the rent.

Meh- needs a lot of work
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighborhood is great. Close to the parks, train and laundry.
Cons:
The building is old and needs tons of repairs. The upstairs neighbor yells all day and night. The owners a non responsive.
Advice to owner:
Start over and show some respect and care for your tenants.
