Solid building in bushwick/Bed-Stuy border
Pros
modern building with central air, management is pretty responsive
Cons
new supermarket on the corner is good, but also bad because the noise from traffic jams with the delivery trucks is obnoxious and pretty much every morning.
Decent but DIY
Pros
Apartments have amenities like central AC/heat, are spacious, and tenants are chill. Laundry in the basement (although it breaks often / doesn't work great, it is there) Management responds promptly to concerns Rent stabilized building
Cons
Management doesn't provide regular maintenance to the building in terms of pest control or necessary upkeep, so there are a lot of problems (with water, gas, laundry, ants) that constantly need to be repaired. They prioritize band-aid fixes instead of solving problems. Laundry facility pretty unclean and filled with junk (tenants don't know whose junk it is) No compost bins or place to recycle cardboard Hallway echoes very loudly Management prefers to talk on the phone or use Whatsapp and refuses to email (so it's hard to keep things in writing)
Advice to the owners
Do more regular maintenance on the building for pest control and to make sure there are no more gas leaks, and keep the common areas more tidy and clean, especially laundry area
