Just an ok building

Pros

Great location Friendly doorman

Cons

Mice! Little water bugs all over bathroom All things were handled with little urgency

Former tenant·Over 2 years ago

Good Building / typical issues

Pros

Overall I really love living at 5 W 86th. The building was built in the 30’s and has typical issues but overall it’s great. The staff has been here for almost 20 years and the average tennet has lived here so just as long if not longer so there is a sense of community. Some have lived here for over 50+ years.

Cons

We did have a water leak in our ceiling that took several months to fix. The management company is known for being shady and was very unresponsive. They also put up scaffolding without giving us a warning and began exterior renovations without giving us a warning. Weinreb owns another building down the street and they’ve had scaffolding up for over 15 years…
