Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews indicate significant dissatisfaction with Charles Schwartz's buildings. Common issues include inadequate cleanliness, poor pest control, and serious maintenance delays, particularly regarding urgent health concerns, like rodent infestations. Many residents expressed frustration with unresponsive management and escalating costs, while some felt that amenities did not justify the high rent. Positive notes about neighborly relations and spacious layouts are overshadowed by complaints about management's accountability and communication. Prospective renters should be cautious, as many current residents do not recommend living in these properties due to ongoing management challenges.

Rats in apartment and still fighting for hotel reimbursement

Pros

Truly nothing it’s horrible

Cons

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with this management company has been nothing short of unacceptable. We reported rats in the walls, and what should have been treated as an urgent health and safety issue dragged on for over six months. Instead of taking prompt action, we were met with delays, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability while we continued living with scratching, noise, and the stress of a rodent infestation. To make matters worse, when the problem became unlivable and we had no choice but to stay in a hotel, they turned around and charged us for the hotel stay rather than accepting responsibility for their own negligence. That's beyond unreasonable. Throughout this entire ordeal, getting in touch with anyone who could actually help was nearly impossible. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and there was no meaningful effort to discuss a resolution or address our concerns. We were left chasing answers while they avoided taking responsibility. A management company's primary responsibility is to provide a safe, habitable place to live. Allowing a rat infestation to persist for over half a year, failing to communicate, and then attempting to pass the financial burden onto the tenant demonstrates a shocking level of incompetence and disregard for residents. I would strongly caution anyone considering renting a property managed by this company. If you expect timely maintenance, professional communication, or accountability when serious issues arise, you may be deeply disappointed.
