Not “nice”, but decent

Pros

The rent is cheap, heat/hot water included (and works well), stairwell is cleaned on a semi-regular basis, exterminator visits the building monthly, and the super is extremely responsive and friendly.

Cons

Kind of a run-down prewar building—some of the walls are sort of uneven, some walls in the stairwell are crumbling and need patching, bad seal on the kitchen sink, etc. Early on in living here a neighbor a few floors down had a really bad ceiling leak, but I’ve been lucky so far in my unit. I’ve only interacted with the property management company once and they were extremely unpleasant/hostile, but luckily I don’t need to speak with them often because we have a super, and the super is great.

Advice to the owners

A bit more maintenance on the stairwell/lobby would spruce up the place.
