Great Building/Complex - One Structural Issue
Pros
Extremely well maintained. Great trash management. Very responsive building staff who can help with small issues. Great management. Fantastic neighborhood. Close-knit community. Beautiful courtyard and surrounding streets. The walls are thick and almost no noise transfers through them.
Cons
There is a structural issue with this apartment complex, where all noise -- from impact noise like footsteps and dropped items and speech, travels extremely easily through the floors to your downstairs neighbors. If you have good, respectful upstairs neighbors, this is no problem. If you do not, this can become a bit of a nightmare. It also means you need to be extra conscientious of your own noise volumes, for the sake of your downstairs neighbors. Even with this one problem, the management and security staff are very helpful in supporting you if quiet hours are violated. Overall, a great place to live.
Advice to the owners
Would advise being more stringent in enforcing the carpet policy. One layer of thin or decorative carpeting is not effective for reducing or preventing noise transfer. And the 80% coverage rule is not always enforced.
