Former tenant·just now

not too bad

Pros

I’ve lived here for 5 years. They installed a new elevator in that time (after ours was down for 6 months and my apt became a fifth floor walk-up🙄). The building is residential and all the tenants are very sweet. The leasing agency is pretty responsive overall. The super (who lives in the building) can be hard to contact sometimes but eventually does follow through on repair requests.

Cons

Elevator being down was annoying but again, that has been rectified. People do come in and out of the building pretty frequently, as the door is often left open. I had a handful of packages stolen over the years, which I feel comes with having the door being open all the time. I think some people have experienced bugs & pests, but we didn’t really. Maybe a waterbug or two but I think that’s not too bad by NYC standards. One inconvenience is our intercom in our apt that connects to the front door stopped working a while ago and no amount of requests has led to it being fixed.

Advice to the owners

Make it easier for tenants to make repair requests and track/follow up on them.

Rats in the walls

Pros

Location is convenient to the C and the A train

Cons

Active drug dealing out front, rats in the walls. Response from the super was "this is Washington heights, what do you expect?"
