163 Menahan street #1 is a nightmare. Don’t be fooled by the size

It was gigantic. Private back yard. Washer, dryer, dishwasher. Huge bedroom. Very spacious . However see below, don’t be fooled . It’s a lemon .
Cons
I lived at 163 Menahan apt 1 for 3 years. It was the most beautiful apartment I’ve ever had. 1000 sq ft, washer dryer in unit, dishwasher. Enormous bedroom. Private back yard with door from the kitchen. $3400. These landlords are slumlords. This place has one out of 6 radiators giving heat . Their solution is space heaters. Rust in the water supply. Old boiler. Pipes freeze if the weather goes below 20 degrees. That means no showers on Christmas. There is no insulation on the back end of the house so the kitchen and bathroom are frigid cold in winter. The Summers were great but winters were hell. Huge ant problem, no proper thermostat. The gas bill was upwards of 600 dollars a month and the electric bill was just as bad. There’s three units in the building but it’s not zoned properly so one unit will pay for the whole buildings gas and one unit will pay for the whole buildings electric. Don’t be fooled by how big and beautiful it looks . It’s a nightmare and they will never fix anything. Just doing my part to get the word out. Be aware, don’t rent it . Apt #1. Is gorgous but absolutely not functional. I promise you will regret it .
Advice to the owners
The owners were not bad people they’re just slumlords and they don’t care about their tenants. Just their money. My advice to them is to redo the apartment properly so someone can enjoy that beautiful space.
