Noise carries between apartments

Well managed building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Steps are friendly
Long term working doormen and handymen
Nice amenities (free to residents)
Having a playground stricture and playroom. Bug plus for kids
Cons:
I know some people have bad relationships with manager and leading office. Not super understanding and helpful but more goal oriented.
Advice to owner:
Nothing

Can see myself here in the long run
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is rent stabilized, responsive management, super responsible and polite staff. Amenities are great like the gym, and terraces with grills (although both could use some touching up and improvements from wear and tear), and there are annual events like July 4th and Christmas where the building puts together neighbor mingling parties with complimentary food. All work orders are typically resolved within the day or at most end of the week (rarely).
Cons:
On high floors the wind whistling sound can be annoying. The windows and ac units aren't super air tight either so winters can get chilly. Some wear and tear like hallway carpet stains or paint chips aren't usually addressed in the lower floors.

High quality units, management fixes requests generally within the same day, super friendly staff.
Cons:
Neighborhood isn't great, after four years they didn't want to renew our lease and didn't give any reason why.

Good clean apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Clean modern building
- Nice views from the higher units
Cons:
- Expensive for the lack of good amenities
- Small gym
- The doormen were always kind but some of the concierge had attitude. Very rude to my guests for no apparent reason.
- Not much going on in this part of Brooklyn, but close to the Fulton St. stop. Always found myself taking the train to do anything.
Advice to owner:
Great apartments but some of the staff were not welcoming.

Overall Great Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very responsive with maintenance issues. Very friendly front desk staff. Extremely helpful staff in general. Very close to Trader Joe’s and lots of trains.
Cons:
Small gym, the outdoor terrace was not a rooftop (but still very nice), neighborhood is on the up and up but still not quite there. No real neighborhood spots or feels.

Content tenant of 2 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly and responsive staff, clean facilities, gorgeous views, convenient location
Cons:
A lot of street noise
Noisy neighbors and even awful building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Front desk is really nice.
Cons:
I have extremely noisy neighbors that have refused to lower their music despite the several complaints and police reports. The building was at first responsive and supportive but they are now gaslighting me saying that they’ve spoken to my neighbors and that the neighbors have denied playing music and that they’ve moved their speakers. The noise has not stopped and it’s been causing severe mental issues that is effecting my health.

Update: I was able to break my lease but only after weeks of fighting with the building and laying out what my rights are as a tenant. Excruciating process.

No surprise here but getting my security deposit was a huge hassle. I had to, again, tell them what the law was to even get a response back.

Overall, it was the worst 6 months I’ve ever had living in New York City. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Advice to owner:
Don’t gaslight your tenants. The neighbors are in clear violation of their lease by being a complete disturbance and nuisance. Stop dragging your feet and do something because the situation is just getting worse.

Owners are rude to residence, or non compliance regarding compliant against
Former Tenant
Pros:
Professional building, Doorman, kind & pleasant professional Staff
Cons:
The Atrium tenants shouldn’t bring their pets to the grilling areas. The lounge furniture is bed bugs capable & should be deep cleaned more frequently & or changed after 8 years
Advice to owner:
Be more respectful to tenants over disrespectful staff & Terminate. Zero Tolerance. Building building one bad Apple can destroy!!

Good building, not best neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building and staff are great
Cons:
Located directly at Fulton St, there's certainly nicer areas to live in Brooklyn
